The AOS & SCO–SOC 2023 conference will be held at the RBC Place London in London, Ontario, Canada. We have arranged for room blocks at a special rate at two area hotels, all of which are within walking distance of the RBC Place London. See Hotel Reservations below for descriptions, rates (all rates listed are in Canadian dollars (CAD), and amenities.

Need a letter of invitation?

If you are a resident of a country outside of Canada and need a letter of invitation to the AOS & SCO–SOC 2023 conference for a travel visa application, please fill out our request form.

Please allow up to five business days for your request to be processed. Priority will be given to those presenting at the conference. 

Money Exchange

Currency exchange is available at a variety of places nearby, including local banks and the DoubleTree London hotel (connected by skywalk to our venue, RBC Place). Both DoubleTree London and Delta London Armouries hotels also have ATMs onsite. Currently, there is not an exchange desk available inside London International Airport. The Toronto Pearson Airport offers a currency exchange. 

Companies like London Currency Exchange and Continental Currency Exchange also have locations available throughout the London area. The closest of these options to RBC Place is London Currency Exchange, located inside Robert Q Travel & Airbus center.

Hotel Reservations

DoubleTree London

The DoubleTree London is centrally-located in downtown London, connected by skywalk to RBC Place convention center. BASE GROUP RATES
Hotel’s room rates are subject to a Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) of 13%, Municipal Accommodation Tax of 4% and Sustainability Levy 2.5% in effect at the time of check-in. Rates are in Canadian dollars. 

• Single/Double: Standard Guest Room – CAD $179 
• CAD $10.00 charge applies for each additional adult over double occupancy, to a maximum of 4 adults per room.
• Group rate valid for 3 days pre and post event dates, based on available and room type at time of request.

Guests calling in to the Hotel’s Reservations Department must specify the American Ornithological Society (AOS), when reserving to access negotiated rates. Individual reservations must be guaranteed with a credit card or advance deposit.

DoubleTree London Cancellation Policy

Individual call-in guestroom reservations must be cancelled at least 48-hours in advance. If rooms are not cancelled at least 48-hours prior to arrival a charge equal to one night’s room & tax will be applied to the individual’s credit card.

Dining 

Built in 1905, the Armouries Grille restaurant is located in a relaxed atrium setting.  The Cantata Lounge, a newly renovated bar is located atop the atrium has a beautiful view of the dining room and lobby. Both the dining room and bar seating has been modified to allow for physical distancing. Enjoy the evening with a dinner menu offering traditional pub food as well as traditional fare.

Delta London Armouries Cancellation Policy

For guests making new reservations directly with Marriott International for arrival dates on or after September 1, 2021, the individual hotel cancellation policies and rate offer rules communicated at the time of reservation will apply. Any changes to the reservation will be subject to availability and any rate differences. Read the Sheraton and Marriott International Flexible Cancellation Policy prior to booking.
