Register for Quiz Bowl
Routinely attracting hundreds of attendees, the Quiz Bowl pits groups of three against each other as they navigate a minefield of scientific and pop culture trivia questions, all geared toward the ornithologically-inclined. Meeting attendees at all career stages can compete for fun prizes in the initial “pub-style” round, and the top three student groups move forward to compete in the final round for even greater glory. Registration to compete in the Quiz Bowl closes two weeks in advance of the conference, 26 July 2021 by 12:00 a.m. (EDT).
The Rainbow Lorikeets is hosting a Queer Social Hour for LGBTQIA+ identifying meeting attendees and their allies. This social is an opportunity to converse with colleagues who identify as LGBTQIA+ about experiences and representation in ornithology and beyond. We will promote a welcoming atmosphere at this private event to provide opportunities for folks to meet other members of the queer community and those who support the community.
Seeking Story Submissions
We are currently seeking story submissions for our Tales from a Mixed-Species Flock: Stories Across Ornithology storytelling event. Submissions are due by 1 July 2021.
Meeting Accessibility Survey
The AOS & SCO-SOC 2021 Virtual Meeting will be an outstanding opportunity to celebrate advances in science and conservation of birds. The Virtual Meeting will include plenaries, talks, symposia, round tables, exciting training opportunities, and fun social networking events. Launching off the success of the NAOC 2020, we are working hard to make this another great virtual conference. Please take a few minutes (less than 3, we promise) to take this survey to help us with our planning.
Meet Our Volunteers!
It takes a village of dedicated volunteers to organize and oversee the many aspects of our annual Society meetings. Please explore our Committee pages to learn more about our meeting volunteers and to contact any of our committee chairs.
