Quiz Bowl

Join us for everyone’s favorite conference event: the Student Affair Committee’s annual Quiz Bowl! Grab a couple of friends that share a passion for bird trivia and compete for ornithological glory and the chance to take home great prizes.

Quiz Bowl participants should form a team of three people, and you do not need to sign up in advance. Just show up to the event on time and be ready to come up with the punniest (and safe-for-work) team name you can think of. If you don’t have an idea of possible teammates, use that as an icebreaker during the first few days of the conference and to meet some new friends!

The Quiz Bowl consists of two rounds: A fun and hilarious Pub Trivia round followed by a head-to-head matchup of three student teams in a Jeopardy round. Only teams consisting entirely of students (undergraduate or graduate) may enter the Jeopardy round to compete for the top-3 prizes. The three student teams with the highest points after pub trivia will take the Jeopardy stage. Anyone and everyone is welcome to compete in Pub Trivia for the honor of having your team name at the top of the list when the pub round is finished! 

The Quiz Bowl is very much a spectator sport. Even if you aren’t competing in Jeopardy, stay after Pub Trivia to watch the exciting competition and whisper to your friends about which questions you would have gotten right if you’d been up there.

Whether you join the Quiz Bowl to watch as a spectator, to enter Pub Trivia as a faculty team just to prove to the kids these days that you still have what it takes, or to go for gold on a student team, we hope to see you there!
