Faiza is currently a graduate student in Shizuka Lab at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She studies social and acoustic communication networks in North American passerines using RFID, video, and sound data. Faiza serves as student representative on AOS Council and co-chair for the AOS Student Affairs Committee and is involved with planning Conference 101, Conference Buddy Program, Student Mentor Meetup, Quiz Bowl, and the Silent Auction.

Ph.D. Student, Clemson University

Akshit Suthar is a Ph.D. student at Clemson University’s James C. Kennedy Waterfowl and Wetlands Conservation Center. His research focuses on understanding waterbird habitat relationships with historical rice field impoundments using drones and passive acoustic monitoring in coastal South Carolina. He serves as a Co-chair of the AOS Student Affairs Committee, helping plan the Student-Mentor Meetup and Quiz Bowl.

Angela is pursuing a Ph.D. in Evolution, Ecology, and Behavior at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln investigating the feedback between winter physiological performance and social foraging in mixed-species flocks. As a proud Community College graduate, she is happy to talk to transfer students about pursuing a PhD. As SAC co-chair, she is excited to be organizing the Silent Auction.
