Information updated 5/20/22

We will make every effort to keep travel information up to date regarding COVID testing, vaccination, and masking requirements in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic. Please refer to these Puerto Rico COVID Travel Information guidelines and Travel Safe ( for the most up to date information pertaining testing, mandates, and overall guidelines. Please note: Domestic and international travel requirements may differ.

Mandatory Masking

Mandatory Masking at AOS & BC 2022

Due to rising COVID-19 cases worldwide and a desire to maintain the health and safety of conference participants, AOS & BC 2022 attendees will be required to wear a face mask covering while inside the PRCC, except for brief periods of time while eating, drinking, or taking medication. Presenters are not required to wear a mask while presenting, if maintaining a minimum of six feet of social distancing is possible, but they are encouraged to wear a clear face shield.

Face masks should be worn in a way that fully covers the individual’s nose and mouth. The type of mask worn should follow CDC guidance and should be designed to prevent respiratory droplets from traveling through the air and onto other people when the person wearing the face mask coughs, sneezes, talks, or speaks loudly.

Proof of Vaccination

Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements for AOS & BC 2022

To ensure the safety of all AOS & BC 2022 participants, all attendees will be required to provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19, as defined by the U.S. Centers for Disease and Control Prevention (CDC) guidelines.

Instructions for uploading proof of vaccination

In order to securely verify participant proof of vaccination, AOS & BC 2022 is using Health Shield (operated by 42Chat), an SMS-based COVID-19 screening tool. Conference registrants will be able to securely upload their proof of vaccination via text message on a mobile device.

  • Attendees who have provided mobile numbers at registration will receive a text message with a link to upload documents.
  • If you do not receive a text message or do not wish to provide your mobile number, we will provide a QR code with instructions for uploading your document.
  • Each participant must upload their own document through their own mobile device.

If you have any questions regarding privacy, you can review 42Chat’s Privacy Policy here
