The Meeting Coordination Committee for the 2023 joint meeting of the American Ornithological Society (AOS) and the Society of Canadian Ornithologists–Société des ornithologistes du Canada (SCO–SOC) is looking for volunteers who can help translate conference written communication materials from English to French and Spanish. All translation work will be conducted remotely. Please use the form below to sign up for this opportunity.
Volunteers who work on translations for a minimum of 10 hours will receive a discount off of their registration for the conference in London, Ontario (8–12 August), or complementary memberships to both societies for those not planning on attending the conference.
Volunteers must be 18 years or older. Preference will be given to students (undergraduate, graduate, between terminal degrees) and early professionals (within five years of terminal degree), but professionals more than five years from their terminal degree are still encouraged to apply, and we will contact you if positions need to be filled. This opportunity is open to all members of the ornithology community. You do not need to be a presenter at the conference or a current member of one of the host societies to volunteer. In appreciation for the commitment of their time, all volunteers will be acknowledged formally as members of the AOS & SCO-SOC 2023 Volunteer Committee.
