The official languages of the American Ornithological Society & Society of Canadian Ornithologists-Société des ornithologistes du Canada 2023 (AOS & SOC–SCO 2023) conference are English and French. To honor the conference theme, “Birds as Bridges,” we strive to provide an equitable and inclusive experience to all participants. While our special events, keynote, and plenaries will be held in English or French, we are working towards facilitating a multilingual meeting on several fronts. We are providing live translations of our plenaries and public talks, publishing all abstracts in English and French, and providing links to translation services for non-English speakers. We welcome our valued members from across the Americas and around the world and will make components of the meeting more inclusive and accessible across several languages. We encourage speakers to present in the language they are most comfortable using, and emphasize using bilingual slides or labels in all presentations. The AOS & SCO–SOC 2023 conference will have opportunities for participants to express their shared enthusiasm for ornithology regardless of language.
